CBSE Improvement Exam 2024
Every year CBSE board conducts an improvement exam for the students who want to improve their marks in the subject of their choice. All the students have a dream of a wonderful career and those who are appearing in the CBSE board exams are willing to score maximum marks as the board results are important for their future. Some students are trying to take admission in the 12th class in the stream of their choice, while some are trying to get admission to good colleges of their choice.
But sometimes this scenario doesn’t work as expected for some students. For some unforeseen reason, a student who expects to score 90% may end up with 85%. Due to this lack of marks, they may lose out in the race for admission to their favorite college. So the CBSE board decides to give a chance to the students to improve their marks through the CBSE improvement exam.
What is CBSE Improvement Exam 2024?
This is an exam which you can give if you want to improve your marks in a particular subject. However, this exam is only for those students who have passed the board exam in the respective subject and are willing to improve their final score. You can give CBSE improvement exam in one or more subjects.
Improvement exams are usually conducted in the same year as the board exams. If you have appeared in the last two years’ board exam then you can also apply for the improvement exam. It means if you have passed in 2020 or 2021 then you can apply for the improvement exam in 2024.
However, if you have any compartment in any subject then you need to qualify in that particular subject first to appear in the improvement exam. The newly obtained marks will be considered as your final result and will appear on your final mark sheet.

CBSE Improvement Exam Dates
This time the board will probably conduct a correction exam between August 16 and September 15, 2024. CBSE Improvement Exam Date will be announced soon and we update the table below as soon as it is released by CBSE.

CBSE Improvement Exam Application Form
Here in this section, we provide you with the complete and simple instructions to fill CBSE improvement exam application form. So, make sure to follow all the steps in the correct order.
- First, you need to visit the board’s official website, @cbse.gov.in.
- After that, on the next screen, you have to enter your Board Exam roll number, 5 digit school number,
- In case you appeared as a private candidate and don’t have a school number then you have to enter 99999, and your examination center number which is mentioned in your admit card.
- Now, click on the proceed and fill in your details.
- Now, you have to make the payment online or through E-Challan from the respective bank.
- Finally, you have to click on submit and your application will be completed.
- You can also download it and save it for the future if you want.
CBSE Improvement Exam Application Fee
The fee for CBSE Improvement Exam for classes 10 and 12 is Rs 200 per subject for all the candidates. However, fee payment can be done online, i.e. through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ NEFT/ RTGS or through Bank Challan whichever way you prefer. See the table below for complete information.

How to Change Improvement Exam Center?
All the students appearing for the Improvement Examination conducted by CBSE will have to appear from the center in the same region from where they appeared in the main examination. However, in case of transfer of parents from one place to another, center change is allowed. So, just follow the steps given below.
- Your parents will have to produce a valid document or evidence of their transfer from one place to another.
- Request for change of examination center is received one week before the date of commencement of examination year.
- Change of examination center is considered if only subject to the availability of question papers at the requested location of the center.
CBSE Improvement Exam Result

- First of all, you have to visit the official website of CBSE cbse.gov.in.
- After that, you have to log in by entering your information like roll number, school number, center number, and the number of admit card.
