CBSE Answer Sheet Portal Delay: When Will Class 12 Evaluation Be Completed?
Students and parents of CBSE schools are in a fix as the link to retrieve answer sheets of Class 12 under the new OSM process is yet to be launched. If the existing CBSE Answer Sheet Portal Delay persists, many candidates waiting to apply for photocopies of appraised answer sheets, re-evaluation services, etc., are now questioning when the evaluation-related operations shall finally be accomplished. Students seeking for college admissions and entry documents are in limbo due to the delay.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has implemented the upgraded OSM system to bring in more openness in verification and re-evaluation of answer sheets. But currently the process comprises numerous steps such as taking photocopies of answer sheets, verification of marks and re-evaluation question wise and students are waiting for longer durations than the earlier years.
Why the CBSE Answer Sheet Portal Is Facing Delays
Reports and student responses suggest that the delay is mostly because of the high number of applications connected to Class 12 results and the newly organized evaluation system. As the board has to first send the students scanned copies of their answer sheets before they apply for re-evaluation, it is handling a huge amount of additional digital verification work.
Also considered to be factors in the slower activation process are technical traffic on the portal and additional verification procedures.
| Possible Reason | Impact on Students |
|---|---|
| High Application Volume | Longer processing time |
| New OSM Verification Steps | Delayed portal activation |
| Digital Answer Sheet Processing | Slower uploads and access |
| Technical Server Load | Website response issues |

What the New CBSE OSM System Requires
Now, students will not be able to apply for re-evaluation immediately after the results as per the modified process. Now, the board has systematic sequence from access to scanned response sheet. Students can apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation of chosen questions only after they have gone through the evaluated copy.
- Photocopy of graded response sheet-Application
- looked at the marks given and checked the answers
- Request for verification of marks, if required
- Apply for re-evaluation question wise
- Wait for updated final result procedure
When Class 12 Evaluation and Verification May Be Completed
Though CBSE has not given any particular timeline for the conclusion of the process, experts are of the view that the processes linked to evaluation may continue for a few weeks due to the phased nature of the verification process. Students are recommended to keep checking the official site for any new information about answer sheet access and re-evaluation dates.
Only once all the objections, requests for verification and applications for re-evaluation are completed, will the final corrected marks and updated results be available.
How the Delay Is Affecting Students
The delay is pressuring students waiting for rectified marks to apply for university applications, scholarships and counselling processes. Many candidates are worried that the late re-evaluation results would affect the admission deadlines for colleges and the procedures associated to the entry.
- Uncertainty of entrance to college
- Scholarship application postponement
- Confusion over updated marks
- Student/parent anxiety
- Final verification waiting time
What Students Should Do During the Waiting Period
Students are encouraged not to worry and not to believe unauthorized updates provided on social media. Hence, the candidates are advised to visit the official CBSE portal on a regular basis and preserve all the login passwords and payment receipts stored carefully.
| Student Action | Why It Is Important |
|---|---|
| Check official website regularly | Get accurate updates |
| Keep application receipts safe | Useful during verification |
| Avoid fake notices online | Prevent misinformation |
| Track admission deadlines separately | Avoid missing college processes |
Could CBSE Extend Re-Evaluation Deadlines?
Some students and education experts believe that if the portal continues to face problems for a longer period of time, CBSE may consider extending some application windows. There is no official word yet on any extension of deadlines.Students are urged to submit applications promptly after the portal is live, and not to delay until the final day.
